Over several years, psychometric tests have been the only way to measure and map people quantitatively in the corporate world. Whether to map and track attitudes and behaviour of individuals to fit them into a role, or to test the efficacy of a training program, psychometric tools and tests are used. Psychometric evaluations have always had their believers and non-believers, as quantifying and boxing human beings who are a bundle of emotions can be debated endlessly without an answer. ELSA Learning Private Limited a human transformation company headquartered in Bangalore, India has created and launched globally, a personal effectiveness, managerial effectiveness and organization development offering called ‘Breathing Manager’ that not only shows results but also measures it using bio-feedback methodologies. Breathing Manager is the world’s first corporate and adult training program to focus on breath-heart and brain alignment drawing upon age-old yogic-science of the east and measuring the impact using latest technology for personal and professional excellence. The Breathing Manager program assesses and kits people with tools and techniques from a self and a peer and subordinate perspective in the course of the 2-month program.


Measurements and assessments include bio-feedback and other qualitative and quantitative tools. Specifically the bio feedback measurements done for every participant include HRV*, breath count, breath pattern, brain synchrony, brain coherence and heart rate. The 2-month program includes 5.5 days of intervention when pre assessments are done and the participants are taken through an immersive process of self-realization and teamwork to achieve individual and team peak performance. The outcome is then measured on the last day of the program to track progress in relation to each individual and with respect to progress on tasks, goals and behaviours that the individual(s) and team had identified during the first session. Some of the tools and techniques include yogic breathing, basic meditation, strategies to breathe right (linked to the role of the person in some cases), control of thoughts and actions for success, guided visualization and anchoring of resourceful states to effectively manage emotions and relationships and putting people first to become an effective leader.
